Tarte Foundcealer Multi-Tasking Foundation, How Does It Stack Up?

Image
Happy day Fresh folks! I have another beauty fave for you today. Among the foundations in my collection which I've loved over the years, I've been I'd say, a Mac-girl (Mac Cosmetics) when looking at my collection. Not the Mac girl where you can hold your face and remove the makeup like a hardened clay mask. I'm one of the rare, natural is better Mac Girl ! But, I've liked their products! For years I've used their foundation, and til this day, I reach for their powder-foundation. And over the years I've found some others that became my foundation fling for the month. So, when I come across a new foundation in particular I like, it's good to land in my favs. Tarte, is relatively new company that has just blown up in recent years. Why? Their products are just great! Last year all any and everyone who was into beauty couldn't stop talking about the Shape Tape concealer. Love it or critiqued it, you were talking about it! In my opinion it is a great prod...

Milk Makeup Cooling Water, Hangover Hack?

Image
The weekend is here Fresh K peeps! I checked out the Milk Makeup Cooling Water balm and wanted to share my thoughts. Milk Makeup is a brand that has become popular in recent years. This is partly because it was beauty brand that incorporated CBD (cannabis oil) into its products with their KUSH line. Aaand for you fellow Hip-Hop folks, they had a collab with Wu-Tang Clan . I mean, the brand is awesomely innovative! The Cooling Water balm is supposed to be awesome for giving your eyes a de-puffing pick me up. The ingredients include caffeine and sea water which helps to calm the skin. This balm can be a hack for hangovers and sleepless nights as the ingredient combo works great to de puff the skin and hydrate. I actually like it as a great prep for makeup, I did notice that my makeup went on smoother whenever I used the balm, and dear I say, stayed put also. Another plus is the packaging which is a twist up, this makes for great hands free application which is awesome! Did I mention tha...

Glam Glow Mask! The Gravity Mud Experience

Image
Happy Day Fresh Peeps! I checked out the highly talked about GLAM GLOW Gravity MUD Mask . This mask retails for US$59 for the 1.7 oz (I know, I know, don't worry, you get an application brush which squares off the price tag) or 3.4oz for US$82. This is the mask that when applied turns silver, it supposed to be really cool! Upon opening what I really loved about the mask is the fragrance. GLAM GLOW claims it smells like marshmallows,  I found it smelled like I was spreading pina coladas on my face as a result of the smell (I may have applied more than the recommended as a result ). The mask did feel like if I was applying melted marshmallows to my face though, the texture was sticky and pretty cool! I removed the mask when it was ready and I must say! The peeling process was fun! My face felt firm and tight but a tad dry, this could be due to one of the key ingredients being Polyvinyl Alcohol, Alcohol Denat. High alcohol can be a bit irritating to the skin! But after ap...

Just How Smooth Is the Tatcha Silk Canvas?

Image
Tatcha is a Japanese skincare brand that has gained alot of popularity in recent years. Victoria Tsai founded the brand based on principles of 200 year old beauty routine and Geisha its a brand. Unilever bought Tatcha last year, but the brand shows no sign of slowing down. Some of Tatcha's break out hits are the Luminous Dewy Skin Mist , which is misting moisturizer. The Water Cream Moisturizer which is highly raved. What I will be chatting about today is the Silk Canvas Primer. I kept hearing only good things about this primer and it's had such high praises from reviewers. I decided to splurge and try it out. Off the bat, it smells AH-mazing! I'm not into scented makeup products, the smell does fade, but it was lovely. Now, the key to this product is use SPARINGLY. A little goes a very long way,  I applied very little to focused areas and then applied my makeup. I wore this under my Tarte foundation and it was dream! I found that I rarely needed to touch up during the da...

Cheap Thrills, Wonderful World Edition

Image
Happy Wednesday beautiful people! I hope you're having a fab-tastic week. I wanted to share some cool stuff from Wonderful World. Wonderful World, is the closest to getting your Ulta fix when it comes to beauty. I always get some great finds when I venture in there and that purple branding just takes over and wanted to share some with you, just don't tell anyone! So, lets dive into it! First are some really cool lip glosses from the brand Nicka K New York. These are some cool substitutes to liquid lips. The opacity of them are surprisingly good! They also last for quite sometime. I have sensitive skin, so I was pleasantly delighted to know that these guys did not irritate my skin like some other brands. So, if you have sensitive skin as well let me know if it works for you too! They came in at a good deal of USD2.20. I'm newly familiar with this brand, but so far from what I've tried they are really decent! Next up, is a very interesting find from Jordana. Jordana is on...

Fresh Nails - ILNP 'No Days Off'

Image
Welcome back! Hope your week is awesome! If it is gloomy, have no fear I'm about to brighten that right up with this week's lacquer. ILNP is a fave indie brand of mine, I love the colors (and trust me they have PLENTY of them) I always get compliments on my nails when I wear their colors. And trust me, pics don't do them justice. My color this week is a gorgeous teal based color from them called ' No Days Off ' with an amazing sparkle baked in. The color takes on average of 2 coats to build up opacity, set it off with the glorious top coat and you're out the door to blind people! I have to say this is one of my fave brands in my collection. I always feel like I'm putting straight jewels on my nails . If you're looking for a new brand definitely give them a look, they're also a cruelty free brand! What colors are you rocking this week?

Nail Glow Up Game Activated with Orly Glow up!

Image
Hi again internet peeps! This week's polish I've been sporting is another fave of mine in my collection (don't ask me how many I have, that's for another post on another day with no shame in my polish game ). I'm getting brighter by the week with Orly After Glow , off their 2018 Neon Earth Summer line which was a collection featuring 6 shades that had different finishes! I wasn't really impressed with the collection at first, but After Glow looks really nice! Its good when you don't want to go so neutral. However, don't think this is a quiet color! It packs a punch. The formula is nice and easy to apply which is common with lighter colors, took about 3 thin coats for the color to punch up and once the IN A SNAP top coat was applied I was in love with the below result. Hit the comments below if you think this is a color you would try out?

An Oldie But A Goodie, Orly Cupcake

Image
Hello and thank you for staying tuned! In this post, we shall have a quick chat about my latest go to.  The Orly Cupcake Lacquer from their Spring 2008 Sugar Coated Collection. It's a pretty old collection. But, I think 'Fresh' is a state of mind! Besides, the colors are still pretty and relevant as when they first launched. The colors have very appetizing names too, I mean, how can you not love a lacquer called Cupcake?   When looking at application, it too two - three thin coats to get the opacity. The end result is a very cool dusty pink with some blue undertones. Topped off with a Orly In a Snap Top coat and voila, done!   I love some wild colors, but I’m a sucker for nude lacquers. This one hits the spot all the time! What nail looks have you been sporting lately?

Maybelline Fit Me - Foundation Sent From The Gods?

Image
Why yes, you are seeing a review for the Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation in 2020! I’m late to the review game on this foundation but, better late than never. The Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless foundation claims to mattify and refine pores for a poreless finish while having a natural seamless finish.   I like to apply with a brush then pounce in with a damp Real Techniques sponge which works nicely. I did notice my pores seemed less noticeable and I did not use a primer. Once the foundation is set, it can stretch throughout an 8hr workday. Breaking for minor touch ups with a blotting sheet or powder.   The finish is nice with more of a demi matte finish, so not quite matte like say a LA Girl Pro Matte Foundation. But, depending on your preference you either like it or not. It stays super light on the skin which is a huge plus! The foundation held up well with my combination skin, by the end of the day it was showing to have some stress around my...
