Last of Us ... 5 Years Later
It's been five years since we saw our Last of Us crew. Everything was going great, Ellie and Joel have settled in Wyoming in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. The game reminds us that in this new world people can lose their lives quickly, too quickly 
. Graphics-wise the game is stunning! I'm not sure why they didn't utilize the PS5's hardware for this game, but it also shows that as old as the PS4 is, it still packs a punch! As beautiful as the game is, it is the source of some controversy I will try not to be too specific incase you don't know, but lets just say, we're not really Abby fans. Infact, the game's director started to receive death threats after the story leak earlier this year.

The director has said that the game is about the cycle of violence and the intention is for the player to be repulsed by the violent acts they have to commit. This is further emphasized by the enhanced visuals which makes the it more intense. So yeah Joel, folks got really invested in Joel and Ellie's characters in the previous game. In this one, we're greeted with a older Joel from the last game.
Gamers feel connected to this character, he was like a father to Ellie. While the Last of Us is basically a story about revenge. The game follows two roles, one of Ellie and the other of Abby. This enables the gamer to follow the two perspectives of the roles, with the gameplay for Abby being roughly 10 hours (TEN, TEN Abby filled hours). In the end you empathize with these characters and while I didn't. But, even tho the game is again about revenge, the game makes you see they're actually people. Also, Ellie's choices although hard, are carried to the player having to commit these acts. You, the player will be faced with some harden choices.
All in all the game's strengths is in the graphics and scenery. The story, while I understand where the creators were going and trying to achieve, still left some to be desired. Should you play it, yes! But, that's just my opinion.
