Airpods Who? Checking Out the Jabra Elite 65t

The internal struggle and turmoil of making a decision can leave one weary and pulling their hair out. I finally decided to enter modern life and upgrade to wireless earbuds from my trusty Apple wired buds. So, do I go with the Apple AirPods or do I check out this rival potential? These are the decisions we make in life that bring moral dilemma! While the AirPods are good, they have their draw backs. I stan for Apple devices (not so much for their PCs), but I felt like Airpods missed the dunk on some key features that I felt would make a solid product. Biggest gripe is that I would have to summon Siri to change the volume or track. When you’re running or doing other activities in public, how obnoxious is it to beam up Siri to change the volume. As my inner millennial would say, 'how cringe!'.

This brings us to the Jabra Elite 65t earbuds. Although not the 100% answer to the AirPods, they should not be disregarded. Coming in considerably less than the Airpods US200.00 price point at US118.00 already the Jabra was lookin’ good and cringe-free!

The in your ear design of the earbuds produce quite a fair amount of noise cancellation. This is optional if you want to hear your surroundings you can use the Jabra app (iOS & Android) to allow sound in. This is a nifty feature. Speaking of the app, you can also adjust the equalizer to various preset settings or have your own custom preference. I included snaps of it below.

Once you have the right size silicone tip in which I learned from trial and error affects the sound quality due to the snugness of fitting in your ears. The Jabra packs quite the punch in terms of sound! I was quite impressed actually.

A press of the right earbud can play or pause your tunes. Your left earbud features little nubs for volume control, or for a long hold can skip a track. Apple, THIS is one key feature missing from the AirPods. I experienced no dip in connection or dropouts to my phone while on my run and on a full charge the Jabras run on 5hr battery life similar to the AirPods. One downfall was that the charging case is not magnetic like the Airpods case. So, when you open the case your little Jabras run the risk of popping out and making a run for an escape.

Beware Airpods, the Jabra earbuds are here to play! Check out this Amazon link to buy.

What is your favorite brand of earbuds?
